2:00 pm - 5:00 pm ET
120 Albany St. New Brunswick, 2ns Floor, Classroom A
$0.00

As part of Rutgers Democracy Week, this workshop will help build skills for civic engagement, specifically for listening across differences of opinion, trenchant divisions, and conflict in communities, government, and human service organizations.

Inclusive listening has been practiced and taught in community-based Inclusive mediation in several states, and is a critical macro social work tool, to listen deeply without joining, supporting, agreeing, judging, or rejecting. It has also been applied in the realms of legislative advocacy, neighborhood organizing, community practice, social action, issue organizing, activism/protest, and electioneering such as door-knocking or “deep” canvassing, tabling, and other voter outreach.

To earn CE credit, social workers must attend the entire workshop and complete an online course evaluation. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.
