Philip Smith, PhD
Biography
Philip Smith, PhD, graduated from The New School for Social Research with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers University. His professional activities are delivered through The Elizabeth M. Boggs Center, NJ’s University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. The focus of his work is providing training and technical assistance to the New Jersey Children’s System of Care, and New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities, regarding behavioral intervention for youth and adults with disability and severe behavioral challenges, as well as adapting and providing treatment for youth dually diagnosed with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and co-occurring mental illness. Past positions include a faculty appointment at the New York Medical College, delivery of statewide training and consultation regarding Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Positive Behavior Support through New York’s Westchester Institute for Human Development, and affiliate faculty positions at Hunter College and Alliance Graduate School of Psychology.
