Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) are at increased risk of engaging in dangerous and problematic behavior. This webinar will review the variety of interventions that are provided to address these challenges, with a focus on recognizing and addressing the needs to individuals with IDD. Among those options, the central focus will be reviewing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), including an historic overview and outlining some of the basic tools and techniques established by this science. It also will be necessary to address coordination of these tools with other strategies such as clinical intervention and addressing the person-centered values avowed by the disability service systems and the need to address systems level concerns. These will be addressed within the framework of the Positive Behavior Support model. [Elective for Developmental Disabilities Certificate Program]
