This webinar will provide an overview of important legal issues affecting older adults. You will learn about the laws affecting decision-making capacity including financial durable powers of attorney, advanced directives, health care proxies, and guardianship.  Using interactive case studies, the webinar will focus on ethical considerations in the context of providing services to clients with diminished capacities.  Along with an overview of Medicare and Medicaid (including Medicaid eligibility), the webinar  will provide a broad-based understanding of home and community-based services with a focus on New Jersey's "new" Medicaid Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) program.  You will also learn about the rights of residents in nursing homes and assisted living.
