Nearly all adults living in the United States will be exposed to some form of trauma in their lifetime, some of those traumas occurring during childhood. As mental health clinicians, we are at the forefront of implementing practical strategies to create an inclusive and supportive environment for our clientele. This workshop is designed to equip professionals with knowledge and implementation skills to improve the experience of those we broadly serve with emphasis on healthcare environments. A range of simple to complex workplace environment accommodations and interventions will be explored. Additionally, strategies to garner support from those in policy-making positions and clinician burnout prevention will be highlighted. By adopting these workplace practices, organizations can deliver higher quality care and create an environment of respect and compassion for all.
