The phenomenon of bullying is not just limited to school age children but is also prevalent in the older adult community.  One in five seniors experience verbal aggression from caregivers or fellow residents.  This workshop is for those who work with seniors so they will know how to recognize bullying and guide clients in how to respond.  Those who attend will:  Identify the reasons why bullying occurs in senior residences,  be able to name the cost of verbal aggression to the individual and the climate and culture of the senior residence, and be able to instruct seniors in how to effectively respond to bullying in order to decrease its occurrence and mitigate its negative impact.
