Becoming a new supervisor or hope to someday? Looking for concrete information and helpful tools to be successful in this role? This three-part non-clinical supervision series will educate participants about the three fundamental roles a supervisor carries out in their position: The Supportive Role, the Educator Role and the Administrator Role. Activities allow for enhancing skills in each of these roles. Participants will also explore the importance of addressing cultural and individual differences within supervisees and the use of stress management strategies for both supervisors and their supervisees. Day One: The Supportive Role - During this 3-hour webinar participants will be Introduced to the three primary skills used in the Supportive Role of a Supervisor. Participants will explore the importance of supervisors responding to supervisees' cultural and other differences. Strategies to enhance supervisors' resilience and use of stress management skills will be discussed. 

Day Two: The Educator Role - Day Two of this series introduces supervisors to the mechanics of How to Teach; supervisees. Different Learning Styles and levels of skill development will also be presented. Participants will identify a number of personal and professional boundary issues within a supervisory relationship and how to deal with them. 

Day Three: The Administrative Role - Day Three explores eleven tasks of Administrative Supervision. Participants will select tasks needed to enhance their skill set. Working in small groups, the task will be broken down into sub-tasks. Looking at their strengths and needs in related to each sub-task, group members will brainstorm and create work plans to enhance their future work in the identified administrative tasks. This is a 3-day webinar. Participants must attend all three days to receive a certificate of completion. Note: This webinar is not the clinical supervision training required by NJ to supervise LSW social workers for their LCSW.

To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course, and complete an online course evaluation. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.
