Because humans are inherently sexual beings, if you work in the counseling field, you will need to be equipped to support folks through this part of the human experience. Unfortunately, 32% of graduate school counseling programs have zero dedicated classes on Human Sexuality. Because comprehensive training is rare, a significant portion of trainees and newly licensed professionals express discomfort or lack the necessary skills to assess and treat sexual concerns presented by clients (Miller & Byers, 2009). This webinar will introduce sexuality counseling skills and philosophy that is immediately applicable in working with a wide variety of clients, including how to become a sex positive provider, common sexual concerns in couples counseling, teaching consent skills in the therapy room, and how to approach supporting clients’ exploration of sexuality, gender, orientation, and identity.
