The Parent Hope Project (PHP) is a powerful parent-focused intervention designed to reduce parental anxiety and to empower parents to make meaningful changes in themselves. Grounded in Bowen family systems theory and developed by Dr. Jenny Brown, PHP offers a clear, research-informed approach to reduce anxious over-focusing on children.
This training introduces the theoretical and research foundations of a differentiation-based parenting model, then outlines core clinical principles, the parent change process, and key systems concepts to share with families. Clinicians gain a strong framework for applying Bowen theory to real-world practice, with insights transferable to a range of client presentations.
To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course, and complete an online course evaluation. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.

The semi-manualized program provides a map to guide parents in shifting their part in family dynamics - fostering self-regulation, stronger relational boundaries, and greater independence in their children.
Participants in the training can pursue the Parent Hope Clinician accreditation, allowing use of the program and logos in professional publicity and inclusion on the central PHP website.
Following each webinar series, online group supervision supports clinical reflection and integration. Completion of a brief case example assignment marks the end of each training stage.
STAGE 1 (Sept- Feb)
Provides training in the practical use of the Parent Hope manuals and in understanding the core concepts of Bowen family systems.
• Six monthly 3.5-hour interactive webinars.
• Four 90-minute case reflection sessions.
STAGE 2 (Mar - May)
Completes the accreditation pathway as a Parent Hope Clinician and extends and and deepens your mastery of the manuals.
• Three monthly 3.5-hour interactive webinars.
• One 90-minute & one 2-hour case reflection sessions.
