This webinar explores the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth in the child welfare system, including elevated risks of homelessness, trafficking, family rejection, and substance use. Drawing from current research and practice-based insights, the session provides trauma-informed and identity-affirming strategies for social workers and allied professionals. Through an intersectional lens, participants will examine how systemic barriers and stigma shape the experiences of LGBTQ+ youth, particularly youth of color. The session includes case scenarios, experiential learning, and tools to promote authenticity, safety, and connection in care.
To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course, and complete an online course evaluation. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.
