Eating disorders flare during times of intense change, such as matrescence - new motherhood. Media messages and advice around food and body abound, and can trigger eating disorder behaviors. Alternatively, this is a motivating time of treatment for clients as they transition into motherhood and realize the impact of their behaviors in the long term. Participants will get an overview of the intersection of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Eating Disorders, as well as discuss cases and best practices for treatment.
