Biography
Elaine Edelman, PhD, LCSW, CASAC-Advanced (NYS), has been a clinical social worker for over thirty years. She began her career working with children and families at risk due to mental illness, abuse, and neglect. She has worked at every level of mental health care including inpatient and outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, outpatient mental health, and mental health residential services. She has extensive experience working with trauma survivors, borderline pathology, psychiatric illness, and substance use disorder. Dr. Edelman is currently a Professor of Social Work and Addiction Practice at Kansas State University School of Social Work and conducts workshops for the Rutgers School of Social Work Continuing Education Department. Additionally, Dr. Edelman also maintains a private practice.
