The prevalence of estrangement is increasing in American families with statistics reporting that 30% have an estranged relationship. These decisions cause distress, conflict, and the pain of ambiguous grief. This workshop will explore the growing trend of going “no contact” and determine how mental health professionals can best support clients in making decisions about when to limit or end a relationship and when to attempt reconcile with an estranged family member.

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify the causes, prevalence, and impact of estrangement on families
- Identify the ambiguous loss and learn ways to support their client’s grief.
- Explain strategies for supporting clients experiencing estrangement including helping clients determine when to and when not to attempt to reconcile.
