This webinar will use real PTSD case studies to demonstrate solutions for patients and clinicians to manage symptoms of PTSD between therapy sessions. Participants of this webinar will learn about common symptoms of PTSD and the use of effective coping strategies and multiple grounding & containment techniques. This webinar will center around trauma based in domestic violence, childhood abuse, sexual assault, sudden loss, combat, natural disasters, and gun violence, but will be applicable to therapists working with all patients who have survived trauma. This webinar will also help clinicians recognize when it is appropriate to halt outpatient treatment and refer to higher levels of care.

To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course, and complete an online course evaluation. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.

Objectives

1. Attendees will be able to identify three to five grounding techniques and safety skills to manage symptoms of PTSD between therapy sessions. 
2. Identify at least three clinical indicators that warrant referral to inpatient or higher levels of care for individuals experiencing trauma-related symptoms.
