DATES: Day 1: Tuesday, 8/4/26, 9:30am-12:30pm. Day 2: Wednesday, 8/5/26, 9:30am - 12:30pm. This 2-day webinar, discusses how unaddressed shame has destructive consequences for individuals, for families and for communities. Shame can cause and exacerbate depression, anxiety, addictions, criminal activity, aggression and codependent behavior. This webinar will define shame, explore its impact and give an overview of the literature on the topic of shame, including the work of shame researcher, Brene Brown. Those who attend will learn how shame influences parenting, our response to loss and trauma, and school culture. The webinar will describe how men, women and different cultures differ in their experience of shame. Participants will learn the principles for the treatment of shame. *This is a 2-day webinar. Participants must attend both days to receive a certificate of completion.
To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course, and complete an online course evaluation. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants should be able to:
